Sir William Alexander, 17th Century Map of Eastern Canada and New England

Uncolored, untitled copperplate engraving, as published by Samuel Purchas in Hakluytus Posthumus or Purchas His Pilgrims (London, 1625). This rare and incredibly early colonial map names the twenty patent holders in coastal Massachusetts only a very few years after the Plymouth landing. Presented in a later gilt wooden frame.

Trivial stains; taped to a mat with about .25 in. of tape into the sheet; the image area is not affected. Overall very good condition.
