Carved and Polychrome Painted Farm Sign

Pine plaque circa 1940s from a chicken farm, depicts the chicken, in profile, standing on a chopping block, a tear flowing from its eye. Once a hanging sign, it is now set into a wooden base and is free-standing.

Flaking to the base; some accumulated dirt.
