Framed without glass, golden thread and gold sequin applied in fanciful patterns with two figures on horseback in roundels in the central portion, applied beads throughout, Kalaga is the traditional name for embroidered tapestries from Myanmar (Burma) commonly depicting stories from the Jataka and the Ramayana as well as historical secular scenes.

DOA: 27 x 43 in.

Good estate condition; a few loose threads.
