Southern Walnut Chippendale Armchair

Circa 1780, eastern Virginia or North Carolina, yellow pine corner blocks, stiles and crest rail with molded edge, central shaped splat with pierced heart cut-out, shaped arms and supports with scrolled knuckle, slip seat, molded seat rail, molded straight legs with inside chamfer, stretcher base.

Later upholstery; small hairline cracks at top rail where it meets the stile; cut and patch to proper right front leg at the seat rail joint.
