Circa 1780, eastern Virginia or North Carolina, yellow pine corner blocks, stiles and crest rail with molded edge, central shaped splat with pierced heart cut-out, shaped arms and supports with scrolled knuckle, slip seat, molded seat rail, molded straight legs with inside chamfer, stretcher base.

Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Henderson, New Bern, North Carolina. Later upholstery; small hairline cracks at top rail where it meets the stile; cut and patch to proper right front leg at the seat rail joint.
