This quilt belonged to Henry Calvin Stroud (1821-1865), who was the innkeeper of the Colonial Inn, and also served as 3rd Regiment Home Guards of the Confederate States Army, the quilt is 19th century with a repeating flowering vine motif, unmarked.

By descent through the Stroud & Jordan families, NC. The quilt is being offered for the first time of sale through direct family descent. Purportedly this quilt was traded during the Civil War for a wool blanket to another soldier.
Fair condition with losses and replaced fabrics; staining.
