From the Estate of the late Dr. Alison Mary Turner, Wake Forest, NC. Much of the collection was inherited from Dr. Turner's parents, Royal Navy Captain and Mrs. John Schomberg Hammill and great-grandparents, Admiral Sir Montague Edward Browning and Lady Ruth Boldero Browning. As members of the Peers of the Realm of Great Britain, Dr. Turner's family history is well documented, and additional information on the family is available.
Accompanied with early family note identifying the sitter as Anne Hartshorne but later research notes the sitter is possibly Abigail Hartshorne (1778-1837), daughter of Jonathan Tremaine.
Good estate condition.
