Mid-19th century, 33 in. round damascus barrel tapering to a 17mm bore and inlaid
RIVIERE. / LONDON in brass while engraved with a star; the breech sports two inlaid gold bands, one of which is scratched with the intitials "A. M. D."; the barrel tang with a rabbit and dove motif; the walnut half-stock with engraved silver trigger guard and buttplate. The gun's wooden ramrod is present.
LOA 48 in.; weighs 4 lbs 10 oz.
Private Antique Arms Collection, North Carolina Working action; horizontal crack to the stock at the side screw and a hairline extending 2 in. to the rear of the lockplate; dings to the walnut; tarnish to silver elements. Overall good condition.
