Two Woodblock Prints by Shiro Kasamatsu (Japanese, 1898-1992)

Ink and colors on paper, first Shuzenji Hotsprings, 1937, with artist's seal on lower right hand corner, and second Sunset on Furutone River, 1939, with artist's seal and name on lower left hand corner, below the image in margin reads "Outside Tokyo" and "Shiro Kasamatsu," Western patrons and collectors were particularly attracted to Shiro's prints for the romantic landscapes depicting traditional Japanese life and landmarks.

Very good impression and color; Shuzenji print has a pin hole in the upper left hand corner margin; some toning on edges of paper on one corner.
