Att. Whiting Mfg. Co., circa 1870-1880, the handle finely and naturalistically cast with a pheasant chasing a beetle on a leafy branch, the handle transitions to a bird leg and talon to connect to the engraved serving blade with matte finish, marked "Sterling 5A."
