From the estate of James V. Bernardo, early airline pilot and, later, Chief, Division of Educational Programs & Services, National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Included are the following: a 1950s typed biography; 1951 United Airlines 100,000 Miles Club pin and membership card; eight 8 x 10 press photos of Mr. Bernardo in various work settings at NASA and possibly earlier; five civilian civic and professional lapel pins; four tie clips related to flight; a silver toned signet ring; an Allison turbo prop fob; three NASA service lapel pins, including a gold-toned Mercury capsule; a 10K gold NASA 25-Year service pin mounted with a sapphire; Mint sheet of 1962 Mercury 4¢ postage stamps and a First Day cover of the same, both signed by NASA administrator James E. Webb and astronaut John Glenn (some splitting to perforations on the sheet); an "Astro" letter flown by the Rocket Research Institute on June 28, 1962; twelve additional aerospace-related postal covers; three postcards; invitation to the presentation of the National Geographic Society's Hubbard medal to John Glenn; a quarto booklet illustrating Mercury Atlas-9; four NASA Honors Awards programs; over 50 projector slides for educational talks.
