Circa 1880-1900, with the mark for Fonderia Nelli of Rome, presented atop the original granite and marble plinth, a grape leaf added for modesty.

Alessandro Nelli operated the leading foundry in Rome during the late 19th century. This finely finished bronze is a copy of the Hellinistic original by the school of Lysippos in 4th century BC.
Some white flecks to bronze; minor flakes to corners and edges of stone plinth.
