Watercolor, gouache, graphite and metallics on tea stained paper, signed and dated 2009 at lower right, further inscribed "Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) / Mill River, Easton, CT," float mounted and framed under glass. Accompanied by a signed copy of Prosek's Ocean Fishes: Paintings of Saltwater Fish (New York: Rizzoli, 2012).

Artist, writer, naturalist, and Yale graduate James Prosek published his first book, Trout: an Illustrated History (Alfred A. Knopf, 1996), at nineteen years of age. He has exhibited extensively throughout the United States at venues including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, VA; National Arts Club, New York, NY; North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh; The Addison Gallery of American Art, Andover, MA; the Philadelphia Museum of Art, PA; The New Britain Museum of American Art, CT; the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, New Haven, CT; The Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody, WY; the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC; and many others.

Very good estate condition - not examined out of the frame.
