Unmarked, late 19th century, four interchangeable brass cylinders; ratchet-wound movement with Change/Repeat and Play/Stop levers; exterior surfaces of burled veneers with ebonized trim, the book-matched lid featuring a central medallion consisting of intricate marquetry with mother-of-pearl highlights, the underside of the lid with bright maple veneer, the case with two brass acanthus-form handles; the stand with turned legs and a drawer for storing the cylinders.

Estate of the Late Dr. Robert Hogan Gaskins Jr., of Greenville and Jacksonville, NC Presently in working order, however two teeth on the comb are lacking tips; normal wear consisting of some dings and scuffs to the exterior; chips to the legs and roughness along underside edges. Overall visually pleasing.
