This lot from the Cyprus Museum of Jacksonville, NC is accompanied by two documents demonstrating that the collection was acquired legally with the full knowledge of the Cypriot Government.
The second document is a notarized affidavit signed by the museum's director. It declares that all of the museum's antiquities were acquired legally with the full knowledge of the Cypriot Government and that there were documented visits to the museum by Cypriot dignitaries.
Selection of Cypriot Neolithic and Chalcolithic Artifacts, to include the following: three pecked and polished hardstone celts (axes lacking a hafting groove); a pierced flat stone, possibly used as a pendant; two flints; a grooved and polished schist, possibly used as a fisherman's weight or plummet; several pottery fragments attributed to the Chalcolithic, or Copper Age, circa 2300-2100 B.C.
