The Longquan celadon tradition in China is rich, beginning in the Three Kingdoms period (220-280) and reaching its peak of splendor during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). Longquan celadon features multiple layers of glaze, which means the potters re-glaze the ware over 10 rounds, to create the jade color gloss. Peonies and lotuses are the most popular of decorations for Longquan ware, quiet and elegant.
