Private Collection, Outer Banks of North Carolina Pavia was an influential force in the New York art scene from the 1940's until his death at the age of 93. He befriended Jackson Pollock while studying at the Art Students League and later co-founded the Club, which included Willem de Kooning, Barnett Newman, and Robert Motherwell among its members.
His large marble sculptures were installed outside the Cloisters, the Guggenheim, and the Cooper-Hewitt. His sculptures remain in numerous public and private collections throughout the country.
