From the Estate of Isaac Emerson Murray, Jr., Durham, NC Dubbed a "Dixiecrat" by the New York Times in his 1956 obituary, Fielding Wright served a term and a half as governor of Mississippi and was a Vice Presidential candidate on the States Rights ticket in 1948. Born in Rolling Fork, MS in 1895, he earned a law degree from the University of Alabama before serving with the Army in France during WWI.
