Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Thomaston, Connecticut and St. Louis, Missouri, late 19th century, walnut case with three finials and glass front door; key-wound time and strike brass movement; the upper hours face with inset seconds dial; the lower face being a calendar with day and month apertures.
31.5 x 16.25 x 6 in.
A tag on the key indicates the clock was serviced on May 22, 1980.
The clock is currently keeping good time with the seconds dial operating; the calendar dial is also working; the bell, though audible, should be calibrated to ring the correct hour and the calendar needs to be set to the correct date; the top face has been crudely painted over, however the seconds dial has original surfaces; the lower dial, though original, shows typical craquelure and minor losses to the painted surfaces; the case shows wear consistent with normal use; the tip of the proper left finial his been chipped.
