After retiring in 1976 from a long career in secondary eduction, Fred Webster nurtured his talent for woodcarving by enrolling in a summer course at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. His folk art carvings have been exhibited at the Nasher Museum of Art in Durham, NC and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Montgomery, AL.
