Caswell County, North Carolina, circa 1850, mahogany veneer, each with a relief carved and shaped crest rail, distinctive scrolled and pierced arm supports, serpentine front seat rail with lower cockbeaded edge, distinctive shaped front legs and rockers.
43 x 24 x 35 in.
Both chairs retain an old and possibly original surface.
Each with later upholstery; some joint separations especially to one at arm stile joint; one with six-inch cockbeading loss at lower seat rail; the same chair with wood loss to left rear rocker tip.
