This wonderful example of the iconic 107 series from Mercedes Benz has been well maintained and preserved. It is mostly original with a new interior and some freshening of the paint. With a 3.8 litre V8 producing 155 hp, and a four-speed automatic transmission. Due to emissions regulations by the US, this was the only model of the SL imported legally in the early 80's. It was sold new in 1985 by Powers Motor Company in Morristown, NJ, as a lease. Documentation including the original window sticker are present. It is equipped with the Bosch fuel injection system which allows for a stricter air/fuel mixture. With good maintenance and service, this setup is very durable and capable of many miles. The 1984 and 1985 models came with a double timing chain to address failure prone previous models that were not retrofitted by the factory. It also has power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, anti-lock braking, electronic ignition, electronic cruise control, tachometer, power windows, power mirrors, heated rear window in hardtop, fog lamps, and and aftermarket Nakamichi AM/FM/CD player with amplifier mounted in trunk.

The black exterior with M/B Tex Alpaca Gray interior show extremely well. The interior was replaced approximately 7 years ago, around 130k miles. Present is a hard top in excellent condition, as well as an equally nice soft top with clear windows, both in black. Later 15" wheels have been added, with the original "Bundt" style wheel remaining in the spare. They are in excellent condition.

Owner states it had been maintained with normal services throughout his 7 years of ownership; last major service performed in 2012 including brake flush, A/C recharge, and driveshaft flex disc replaced; runs and drives good; clean Carfax indicates 3 owner from 1999; clear VA title; original owners manual, and first aid kit present; car cover included.

Paint is in great condition; the paint shines and does not have any major areas of concern; some evidence of a repaint is present around the rear deck; scrape where top attaches; interior has been replaced and is in good condition; some staining to carpet and wear to drivers bolster; dash has a few cracks; electric antenna is broken off, but operates; passenger visor clip is broken; knob of handle for top operation is broken but functional; some whine from power steering pump, fluid needs flushing at minimum; small coolant leak from hose when running; small gash in sidewall of aging tires, tread is good, with flat spots; no other apparent concerns.
