Phillip Philbeck describes himself as "a landscape artist of the Old School variety." His meticulously detailed paintings depict a sublime view of the land in the manner of 19th century artists such as Frederick Church and Albert Bierstadt.

This painting depicts the Blanton farm in Shelby, North Carolina. A limited edition run of prints of this painting was published in 1993 and sold out completely.
