An Antique Continental Carved Oak Dowry Chest

18th century, raised panel hinged lid, interior with till, iron bail handles to sides, front panel with relief carving and inscription reading "Ualheitanna Renken, 1728," chip carved and sloped skirt raised on shoe feet.

36 x 56 x 29 in.

Purchased in Holland in the 1960's. By family decent to current owner.

Later hinges; no key or clasp; patches to front of lid and lower central facade (likely from original iron clasp); break and repair rear right foot.
