When published, Ernst Wasmuth's portfolio consisted of 100 lithographs showcasing Frank Lloyd Wright's revolutionary architecture. Complete sets of the prints are very rare today since most of them were lost when Wright's Wisconsin home, Taliesin, was destroyed by arson in 1914. Those sheets and portfolios that survived the initial disaster are often marked by water damage such as seen on the portfolio cover offered here.
