Dream of Arcadia in about 1838. The painting was well received and the American Art Union published a steel engraving by James Smilie which was distributed to to the Art Union's 14,000 members in 1850. This painting likely traces its origins to the Smilie print source.
New stretchers as well; cut and laid on the linen liner and stretchers.
