Diminutive North Carolina Buttocks Basket, Mary and Eliza Shelton

Early 20th century, although unsigned, the basket is recognizable as having been made by the Shelton sisters, Forsyth County, North Carolina, composed of thin oak splints with a bentwood frame, the delicate finishing nails above a cross band at the handle bases are a notable Shelton detail.
