Southern Late Federal Mahogany Sofa

Attributed to Petersburg, Virginia, circa 1830, yellow pine and white pine secondary, frame without upholstery, rear tapered stiles, downswept arms with scrolled knuckles, with baluster and ring-turned arm supports, turned and tapered legs, on casters.

Without upholstery; later slats within seat; later vertical blocks to rear stile in between original horizontal slats; legs with shrinkage cracks and wear.
