Exterior in a brilliant blue with a white convertible top and wide white walls set this car apart from others. The restoration appears to be of high quality and the assembly is correct. The interior includes the high back seats introduced in 1968, recovered in a grey twill fabric that is soft to the touch. The door panels, dashboard, and carpet refinished in black. the interior paint to match the interior. The convertible top has a matching boot cover. A later stereo has been added that adds convenience features but appears original to period.
1968 was a year of major change for the Beetle. The most noticeable of which were the new larger, higher mounted C-section bumpers, new larger taillamps were adopted and were able to accommodate reversing lamps, '67 North American style vertical headlamp placement, but with replaceable-bulb, outside gas filler with spring-loaded flap, electronic fuel gauge was integrated with the speedometer, windscreen washer pressured by the spare tire, which was to be maintained at a pressure of 42 psi. A pressure valve in the connecting hose closed airflow to the fluid reservoir if spare tire pressure fell below 30 psi, which was above the recommended pressures for the road tires.
