This composition of a putti blowing bubbles and astride a skull is taken after an engraving by Goltzius, published circa 1590 (Bartsch III.98.11).

Panel affixed with unknown adhesive to a later cardboard backing; vertical split to proper right side of panel; obscuring varnish visible under UV light; rubbing to edges of panel from framing; several scattered paint flakes; craquelure.
