Antique Framed Hooked Rug

Circa 1900, rectangular form with central floral design on a cream ground with leaf and berry border, presented under glass in a gilt frame.

From the collection of Dr. Henry T. Perkins, Jr., Raleigh, North Carolina

An inscription on the verso reads:
"This antique hooked rug was a gift to Joann and Henry Perkins from Mrs. Lucille Page Blake in 1962. The rug had formerly belonged to her mother." A copy of a letter from the consignor is included in this lot describing the history of the rug passed down through a Bostonian family and gifted to the consignor.
