New England Federal Inlaid Mahogany Writing Table

Early 19th century, mahogany veneers, white pine secondary, rectangular top with triple line light and dark wood inlay to border, front and side edge with applied vertical banded veneer, single long upper drawer above a shaped kneehole, flanked by two deep drawers, all drawers and kneehole with triple line border inlay, raised on tall square tapered legs.

31 x 36 x 19.25 in.

Top with tight shrinkage crack and scattered wear with marring; pulls later but in original hole; shrinkage split to right side panel; some banded veneer patching to front edge but all intact.
