From a Private Collection, Charlotte, North Carolina Born in South Carolina and living and painting in Boone, NC since 1979, Richard Tumbleston has garnered a strong reputation for his depictions of the High Country that he loves. Tumbleston works in a variety of mediums, including egg tempera, alkyd paints – similar to egg tempera but slower drying -, acrylic, and other mediums. The artist notes that he is largely influenced by American artist Andrew Wyeth, both in his use of egg tempera and in terms of style.
