Circa 1870, this French Empire gilt armorial plate is centered with the arms of Napoleon III (1808 -1873), the border is decorated with classical empire symbols of a crowned sphinx and a crowned eagle alternating with an N in gilt on a white porcelain ground, the underside bears the red stenciled Sevres mark.
