Royal Copenhagen "Fairy Tale" Porcelain Figure

Second half of the 20th century, one of the "Fairy Tale" set crafted in a matte glaze, each variation of the set depicts an amorous couple in Eastern dress, the underside is marked with underglaze blue waves, overglaze crown, painted numbers and letters.

This figural group was designed by Gerhard Henning (Danish, 1880-1967) for Royal Copenhagen. An early example, circa 1921, is included in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
