Washington, D.C., March 5, 1825, partially printed Document Signed, "J. Q. Adams," one page, vellum, oblong quarto, granting Stephen Elliott just over 154 acres near Cahaba, Alabama, presented behind mat in 20th century wooden frame with black veneer.

DOA 14 x 19.25 in.

Cahaba would earn notoriety in later years as being the site of a POW camp for Union soldiers during the Civil War.

Pronounced losses where folds intersect; some stains; manuscript elements remain intact; not examined out of the frame.
