Mouchoirs D'Instruction Militaire No. 3 Cavalerie, late 19th-early 20th century, printed cotton fabric, illustrating everything equestrian for the aspiring cavalier. This handkerchief belonged to a numbered series that, unlike a textbook, would both fit in a pocket and be of use to all recruits, even illiterates. Presented behind mat in a painted wooden frame.
26.5 x 29 in.; DOA in frame 33 x 37 in.;
Some stains; areas of loss in NW quadrant and above music in the central medallion. Not examined out of the frame, but overall good appearance.
