"A sound, a smell, an incident or other stimuli will do what is known as "jarring a memory." The phrase recalled memories of my mother preserving fruits, vegetables, even venison in those days before freezing those items was practical. Lined up in a row on a shelf, the were memories of the bounties and energy of the past season. I began to envision some of my memories preserved in jars. A tree perched on a cliff from a trip to Bryce Canyon was placed in a jar, thread painted then draped with ethereal images of multiple jars waiting to be filled and preserved with other memories." -Jacquelyn Nouveau
