Nancy Whorf (American, 1930-2009), Trompe-l'œil Painted Step Back Cabinet

The cabinet is early 20th century, one part form, all-over painted surface in the style of a cast iron stove with accoutrements, upper hinged door opens to reveal a painted roaring fire with shelf, the lower cabinet with red and black painted shelved interior, raised on shaped bracket feet, signed Whorf in the painted calendar to the upper right.
