Circa 1850, an alkaline glazed stoneware jar with iron slip floral decoration, the ovoid jar has applied ear handles, a semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in an olive green glaze having runs around the rim and handles, featuring the "broken stem" floral motif on front and reverse. The upper half with darker dendrite markings.
14.25 x 12 in.
Jar has been drilled through the underside to serve as a lamp; very small chip at the attachment of one handle; base retains a sticky residue which does remove.
