Lot Details & Additional Photographs
First half 20th century, a solid instrument with hardshell case; the bow signed on the left side above the frog.
Possibly a Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra instrument as the case has an interior label from Kschier Brothers Musical Instruments of Pittsburgh and a Pittsburgh Symphony program from 1954 is present.
The bow needs hair; the violin has a small area of seam separation at the lower point on the bass side; bridge and sound post are present, but the instrument appears to need only a set up with strings; overall very good condition with potential; the case with expected wear, one compartment fouled with an unpleasant melted mess that was once a cake of rosin.
