Mid-19th century, 42.75 in. unmarked octagonal .48 caliber barrel with fixed front and rear sights, rifled bore; full maple stock, brass mounts, lockplate stamped with maker's name and location.
Action not frozen, but does not work; 3 in. section of the stock's right shoulder is broken and attached with early nails; copper plate added to underside of buttstock; stock broken and repair ahead of back ramrod pipe; oxidation to ferrous elements; overall wear from age and use; fair condition. Included is extra long period ramrod dowel that can be cut down for this rifle if desired.
