"Sam the Dot Man" McMillan (NC, 1926-2018) Paint Decorated Southern Mantel

A Late 19th century yellow pine mantel with later paint decoration by Sam depicting a herd of cattle, multi color dot decorated bands, central horse drawn cart flanked by a devil with sign reading "300 Men to Pay AH 12. Oca? 1995", the other side with serpent and tree, signed central left SAM.

62 x 62.5 in., interior 38.5 x 40.5 in.

Good condition with minor rubbing.
