Eastern Virginia, mid 19th century, yellow pine case, one-piece form, with applied cove molded cornice, two hinged doors each with four hand-punched tin panels, shelved interior, flanked by two vertical panels, above two mall side-by-side flush drawers, each case side featuring three hand-punched tins flanked by two vertical panels, above one horizontal panel, molded stile comes straight down and forms the tall square tapered legs.
68.5 x 51 x 23.5 in. Case width 48.25 in.
Original tapered legs; excellent and rare form with original tins and panels relating to the eastern shore of Virginia furniture school.
Refinished; later hinges with cut and patch; later pulls with cut and patch at clasp; lower right drawer with four small patches to each corner; replaced drawer pulls.
