Della Shull (American, 1880-1930), Still Life with Zinnias

Oil on canvas, signed at lower left, inscribed with artist's name on the stretcher, presented in a later gilt frame.

Born in Iowa, Della Shull studied with Robert Henri and William Merritt Chase in New York. In 1914 she traveled to Monterey, California to continue her studies with Chase. The Santa Barbara Museum of Art owns a self-portrait she completed during this sojourn.

She exhibited works at the Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy of Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

Good estate condition.
