Buddy Ingold of Randleman, North Carolina ran a group of Stockers that consisted of Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs, and Chevrolets, winning over 90 Stock Eliminator events, setting records in AHRA and IHRA and becoming track champion at several of the tracks throughout his home state of North Carolina. This is a "Record Breaker" car. He was inducted into the North Carolina Drag Racing Hall of Fame this year. It was discovered in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina after a layer of primer was removed. It is believed that local legends Tommy Kennon performed much of the wrenching on the car at the time, and that the lettering was done by a sign painter, Lewis Brady who also lettered race cars.
The car is still in its original condition with a Pontiac 389 cubic inch V8 engine with a tri-power setup. The transmission was removed and a G-Force T10 4-speed manual was installed along with a new clutch.
Included are some original Chrondek timing tickets, and photos of the car on the drag strip. Also with period McCreary tires on GTO wheels and the trunk is full of additional parts for/from the car.
