Early 20th century, vase is decorated with large registers alternating between scholars at repose in a landscape setting and the reverse with children pretending they are the scholars and imitating their actions, the borders at top and bottom of vase and between scenes have elaborate patterning in warm enamels with gold highlights, drilled and set as a lamp, set into a carved wooden base, with two lightbulb fittings, having a wreath finial, no lampshade.
