Circa 1800, serpentine form highlighted with alternating light and dark wood barber pole inlay edges, ebony veneer on interior edges, additional inlaid accents inside the lid; brass keyhole and hinges.

Later felt liner; lid somewhat out of line with the well; left side of lid with splits at inlays; wear to surfaces; lacking key.
