The first is pencil on tracing paper laid on card stock, unsigned, various pencil inscriptions to verso, matted and framed under glass, the frame retaining two labels - one from Thomas Agnew & Sons Ltd. of London and the second reading "174. Sir E. Landseer, R.A. The Shooting Pony" (Sight size 3.5 x 8 3/8 in.; Frame dimensions 8.5 x 13 3/8 in.) (toning to sheet, glue marks visible under sheet, mat burn); the second is a double sided pencil and ink study on wove paper, the verso depicting a horse with a nosebag in a stable, inscribed in ink at lower right "See page (illegible) lot 841" and with faint illegible pencil inscription at lower left, the recto featuring a study of a cat grooming itself, matted and framed under glass (Sheet 6.75 x 8 1/8 in.; Frame dimensions 12.75 x 14.25 in.) (sheet glued to mat, toning to sheet, crease to upper right corner, minor foxing).
