20th century, #14 of 20, a reproduction of the first shape illustrated in "The Ornamental Shape", produced in Queen's Ware, mottled green porphyry with cream-colored Bacchus head mask and horn handles, mounted on a black basalt plinth with impressed stamp on the underside.

The porphyry surface was a result of Josiah Wedgwood's interest in imitating natural stones. The Queen's Ware is sprayed with metallic oxide before glazing.
