Antique Italianate Carved and Gilt Eagle Lectern

19th century, two part form, carved wood and gesso with gilt and painted surface, the dovetailed body eagle with angled lectern surface having a threaded bolt joining it to the grapevine carved column base, unmarked.

Old surface with gesso chips and gilding loss; possibly a later column base; some joint looseness to the eagle; insect damage; shrinkage crack at block base (but stable).
